Holly Quick Backlist Reviews, Bookman!: Week 56

Just to get through some backlog of books I've read, I'll post 4 super short reviews of backlist titles every Wednesday.

  1. The Detective's Assistant by Kate Hannigan (Little, Brown Books for Young Readers, 2015): It was fun, and told a cool story inspired by the first female detective in the US, but some of the other history wasn't up to par. 4 stars.
  2. Sharing the Bread: An Old-fashioned Thanksgiving Story by Pat Zietlow Miller (Author) and Jill McElmurry (Illustrator) (Schwartz & Wade, 2015): A sweet family story. 4 stars.
  3. Outstanding in the Rain by Frank Viva (Little, Brown Books for Young Readers, 2015): This one was fun because there are cut outs that relate the different pages to each other. Plus, it rhymed, which I liked. 5 stars.
  4. I Thought This was a Bear Book by Tara Lazar (Author) and Benji Davies (Illustrator) (Aladdin, 2015): This one was very fun. Basically, an alien gets trapped in The 3 Little Bears and has to find his way back to his story. 5 stars.
