The summer of 1984 was not soon forgotten by the residents of Pelican Road. Perhaps it was the time spent in pools, the delights of summer love, or, more likely, the unsolved murder.

Pulling together the interviewed memories of different residents of Pelican Road, Ed Brubaker along with artists Sean Phillips and Jacob Phillips weave a deliberately murky story of the underbelly of a suburb. However, not all perspectives were treated with the same care and some felt like they could've been cut.

Some lovely and poignant moments that are sprinkled throughout Where the Body Was make it a worthwhile read.
