Just to get through some backlog of books I've read, I'll post 4 super short reviews of backlist titles every Wednesday.

1. Binti by Nnedi Okorafor (Tordotcom, 2015): A great setup for a rich sci-fi series. 4 stars.
2. Gold Seer Trilogy by Rae Carson (Greenwillow Books, 2015): Young adult fantasy novel set during America's gold rush starring an imperfect, but growing sassy protagonist. 4 stars.
3. King Leopold's Ghost: A Story of Greed, Terror, and Heroism in Colonial Africa by Adam Hochschild (Houghton Mifflin, 1998): Graphic and gripping history. Vital read. 5 stars.
4. The Forgetting Duology by Sharon Cameron (Scholastic Press, 2016): A fantastic YA series with great twists and turns. 5 stars.
