Nova Huang is still at home, but it's not as dull as one might think. After all, she and her grandmothers are witches who run a bookstore with a secret magic section. When her closest friend alerts her to a seemingly magical white wolf into the forest nearby, Nova goes to investigate. Surprisingly, the wolf turns out to be Nova's childhood werewolf friend, Tam Lang. However, the real trouble appears to be a demon and a cult desperate to infuse Tam with the demon. Can Tam face this evil alone or will her friend, or possibly love, Nova and her family be able to help?
Mooncakes is exceedingly charming, warm, fantastical, romantic, and sweet: a lovely read.
