Books on my to-read list, 6

Just want to share some books I'm looking forward to! Once every 4 weeks, I'll post 4 super short previews of books I'm excited to read.

  1. Crazy Rich Asians by Kevin Kwan (Vintage, 2013): When New Yorker Rachel Chu agrees to spend the summer in Singapore with her boyfriend, Nicholas Young, she envisions a humble family home and quality time with the man she hopes to marry. But Nick has failed to give his girlfriend a few key details. One, that his childhood home looks like a palace; two, that he grew up riding in more private planes than cars; and three, that he just happens to be the country’s most eligible bachelor.
  2. How to Hang a Witch by Adriana Mather (Knopf Books for Young Readers, 2016): It’s the Salem Witch Trials meets Mean Girls in this New York Times bestselling novel from one of the descendants of Cotton Mather, where the trials of high school start to feel like a modern-day witch hunt for a teen with all the wrong connections to Salem’s past.
  3. Masquerade by O.O. Sangoyomi (Forge Books, 2024): Set in a wonderfully reimagined 15th century West Africa, Masquerade is a dazzling, lyrical tale exploring the true cost of one woman’s fight for freedom and self-discovery, and the lengths she’ll go to secure her future.
  4. I Was A Teenage Slasher by Stephen Graham Jones (S&S/Saga Press, 2024): Find yourself rooting for a killer in this summer teen movie of a novel gone full blood-curdling tragic.
