Holly Quick Backlist Reviews, Bookman!: Week 68

Just to get through some backlog of books I've read, I'll post 4 super short reviews of backlist titles every Wednesday.

  1. The Penguin Book Of Irish Short Stories edited by Benedict Kiely (Penguin, 1981): I only read bits and pieces but it's fun to see the older stories. 4 stars.
  2. So Long, See You Tomorrow by William Maxwell (Vintage, 1996): Excellent. It is very well written and the author does an amazing job of making the reader connect with every character (even the dog Trixie). I highly recommend it. 5 stars.
  3. Drinking Midnight Wine by Simon R. Green (Roc Trade, 2001): It was pretty good, but I wish the more minor characters got more page time, but it was a fun read. 4 stars.
  4. The Grimm Legacy by Polly Shulman (G.P. Putnam's Sons Books for Young Readers, 2010): Not the best written, but lots of fun. 4 stars.
