Counselor Jen is concerned about the Roanokes. In order to get their spirits up, she takes them on a wild goose chase to find a jackalope, whether they exist or not. Yet what they find is a young lady with a unique assortment of creature friends who is missing her father. The Roanokes reluctantly leave her behind, but are soon roused by the young lady's creatures to go and help her.

On this adventure, there is still a great sense of heart and wonder signature of the previous volumes. However, the timing of this volume is not as well-paced as previous volumes. Regardless, this is still well-worth a read.
