Judging books by their covers, 6
Just want to share some books whose covers I love! Once every 4 weeks, I'll post 4 books and super short synopses of books whose covers catch my eye.
- Masquerade by O.O. Sangoyomi (Forge Books, 2024): Set in a wonderfully reimagined 15th century West Africa, Masquerade is a dazzling, lyrical tale exploring the true cost of one woman’s fight for freedom and self-discovery, and the lengths she’ll go to secure her future.
- The Circus Rose by Betsy Cornwell (Clarion Books, 2020): A ueer retelling of “Snow White and Rose Red” in which teenage twins battle evil religious extremists to save their loves and their circus family.
- The Tea Dragon Society by K. O'Neill (Oni Press, 2020): After discovering a lost tea dragon in the marketplace, Greta learns about the dying art form of tea dragon care-taking from the kind tea shop owners, Hesekiel and Erik. As she befriends them and their shy ward, Minette, Greta sees how the craft enriches their lives—and eventually her own.
- Galaxy: The Prettiest Star by Jadzia Axelrod (Author) and Jess Taylor (DC Comics, 2022): It takes strength to live as your true self, and one alien princess disguised as a human boy is about to test her power. A vibrant story about gender identity, romance, and shining as bright as the stars.
