Holly Quick Backlist Reviews, Bookman!: Week 45
Just to get through some backlog of books I've read, I'll post 4 super short reviews of backlist titles every Wednesday.
- Bog Bodies Uncovered: Solving Europe's Ancient Mystery by Miranda Aldhouse-Green (Thames & Hudson, 2015): Absolutely fascinating. 5 stars.
- Nightfall by Jake Halpern and Peter Kujawinski (G.P. Putnam's Sons Books for Young Readers, 2015): In a world (yes imagine the voice) where there are 14 years of day and 14 years of night, three teenagers will be left behind during nightfall...but they are not alone. While some twists weren't so twisty, there were some truly creepy moments and there was some nice world-building that leaves room open for a sequel. 4 stars.
- War Plan Red: The United States' Secret Plan to Invade Canada and Canada's Secret Plan to Invade the United States by Kevin Lippert (Princeton Architectural Press, 2015): Want to read about our now de-classified plans to invade Canada (and vice-versa)? Read this book. 5 stars.
- Democracy by Alecos Papadatos, Abraham Kawa, and Annie Di Donna (Bloomsbury USA, 2015): A decent graphic novel about early democracy. 3 stars.
