Holly Quick Backlist Reviews, Bookman!: Week 19

Just to get through some backlog of books I've read, I'll post 4 super short reviews of backlist titles every Wednesday.

  1. The Glorious Heresies by Lisa McInerney (Tim Duggan Books, 2016): In turns twisty, hilarious, and difficult to read, this novel is well worth a read. 4 stars.
  2. Monstress, Volumes 1-3 by by Marjorie Liu (Author) and Sana Takeda (Artist) (Image Comics, 2016): Creepily beautiful and hauntingly drawn, this graphic novel series is an obsession. 5 stars.
  3. There There: A Novel by Tommy Orange (Knopf, 2018): Compelling stories collide at the fateful  Big Oakland Powwow. Beautifully and hauntingly written. 5 stars.
  4. The Sawbones Book: The Hilarious, Horrifying Road to Modern Medicine by Justin McElroy (Author), Dr. Sydnee McElroy (Author), and Teylor Smirl (Illustrator) (Weldon Owen, 2018): A humorous and engrossing look at medical history. 5 stars.
