Holly Quick Backlist Reviews, Bookman!: Week 5
Just to get through some backlog of books I've read, I'll post 4 super short reviews of backlist titles every Wednesday. This week, I'm focusing on 4 series.
- "Sarah's Scribbles" Collections: Adulthood is a Myth, Big Mushy Happy Lump, Herding Cats, and Oddball by Sarah Andersen (Andrews McMeel Publishing; Illustrated edition, 2016): In turns hilarious, incredibly accurate, and utterly adorable, Andersen scribbles delightful snippets of life. 5 stars.
- Lore Olympus: Volumes 1-3 by Rachel Smythe (Inklore, 2021): A clever, at times dark, and romantic retelling of some ancient Greek mythology. The art alone makes it worth a read. 5 stars.
- The Tea Dragon Society: Volumes 1-3 by K. O'Neill (Author) (Oni Press, 2017): The definition of cozy and charming. Utterly lovely. 5 stars.
- The Broken Earth Trilogy by N. K. Jemisin (Orbit, 2015): Epic and, at times, jarring in the best way possible, this series has immense and rich worldbuilding, fascinating characters, and excellent writing. 5 stars.
