Firebrand: A Corporate Elements Mystery by Megan Preston Meyer

Currant Keppler is excited about her first post-MBA job and, by all accounts, it seems like a good one. The LATTE Management Rotation Program at Alpine Chalet Coffee Company seems to have it all: one-on-one mentorship, good work-life balance, the promise to be on big projects, and a company with actual values. However, Currant quickly discovers that not all is as it seems. When Currant uncovers that someone is not being honest with their work, she quickly jumps to conclusions about a crime far worse: murder.

While the imposter syndrome and lack of ability to be one's authentic self at work and, often, in dating ring true, not all of Firebrand lives up to its potential. The death comes relatively late in the novel and the mystery is not prioritized by the author nor main character. However, there are some very satisfying moments that make this a fun read.
