Book to movie, 18: Stay Sexy & Don't Get Murdered

Every four weeks, I will be writing about a book that I think could make a great movie.

Now, I will say that this movie idea is less typical than most of my others. Stay Sexy & Don't Get Murdered: The Definitive How-To Guide is, among other things, a joint memoir. However, I could really see this dramatized really well as two lives that had certain similarities that ultimately led these two women to meet, become friends, and build a podcast empire.

Despite being ten years apart, there are certain cultural touchstones that both authors, Karen Kilgariff and Georgia Hardstark, relate to. For those who know them from their wildly successful podcast, My Favorite Murder, it will come as no surprise that many of these pieces of media center around crime.

I think a dramatized version of their joint memoir could tell both their humanizing person stories as well as a larger narrative about why true crime is actually a genre explored by many women.

So, yes, this isn't my typical pitch, but I could see it working really well.
