The Swing by Robert Louis Stevenson (Author) and Heather Lynn Harris (Illustrator)
"The Swing" was originally published in 1885, but remains a meaningful poem to me. I once performed it at a school event and since then, it has stuck with me. The poem perfectly captures the joy of swinging--something that feels unique to childhood.
Now, "The Swing" takes on new life as a picture book illustrated by Heather Lynn Harris. Harris's illustrations beautifully animate this delicate and lovely poem.
