Holly Quick Backlist Reviews, Bookman!: Week 11

Just to get through some backlog of books I've read, I'll post 4 super short reviews of backlist titles every Wednesday.

  1. Becoming by Michelle Obama (Crown, 2018): A moving, beautifully written, and in-depth memoir from a fascinating, immensely intelligent, and mesmerizing former first lady. 5 stars.
  2. Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor (Little, Brown Books for Young Readers, 2017): A lovely if somewhat forgettable YA fantasy. 3 stars.
  3. I Want to Be Where the Normal People Are by Rachel Bloom (Grand Central Publishing, 2020): A hilarious, relatable, and insightful set of essays by comedic queen Rachel Bloom. 5 stars.
  4. Smoke Duology by Dan Vyleta (Doubleday, 2016): A masterful, beautiful, and unexpected first volume followed by a mediocre sequel. 4 stars.
