Holly Quick Backlist Reviews, Bookman!: Week 10

Just to get through some backlog of books I've read, I'll post 4 super short reviews of backlist titles every Wednesday.

  1. Go Set a Watchman by Harper Lee (Harper, 2015): A story that shows the lesson that heroes are not perfect beings. However, many aspects of the book, such as the flashbacks, added little. 3 stars.
  2. Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee: An Indian History of the American West by Dee Brown (Holt, 1970): An impressive and sweeping history. Necessary, though at times quite graphic, reading. 5 stars.
  3. The Haunting of Hill House by Shirley Jackson (Viking, 1959): While not the smoothest read, there were quite a few haunting moments. 4 stars.
  4. The Lotterys duology by Emma Donoghue (Author) and Caroline Hadilaksono (Illustrator) (Scholastic, 2017): An, overall, lovely pair of books about a very diverse family trying to navigate complicated family members and other challenges. 4 stars.
