Bookshops & Bonedust by Travis Baldree

Viv is a mercenary. It's all she knows. But when she takes a bad injury to her leg while fighting a necromancer, she is packed off to recuperate in the quiet, cozy, seaside town of Murk. Trying to find a way to fill her days, Viv stumbles across a down-on-its-luck bookshop with a dynamic, if foul-mouthed, proprietor. Viv's recovery is soon enmeshed with that of the bookshop. Making new friends along the way, Viv has the flicker of a thought that perhaps her whole life won't be the mercenary one, and perhaps that's not so bad.

But the necromancer Viv was fighting is not far off and danger looms for Viv and those she's come to care for. How will Viv and her friends confront the changes and perils of this story? And, perhaps more importantly, what are the stories beyond this one?

Cozy, but with a welcome amount of stakes, Bookshops & Bonedust is a charming stroll with the perfect balance of adventure.
