Books on my to-read list, 15
Just want to share some books I'm looking forward to! Once every 4 weeks, I'll post 4 super short previews of books I'm excited to read.
- The Compound: A Novel by Aisling Rawle (Random House, 2025): Lily—a bored, beautiful twenty-something—wakes up on a remote desert compound, alongside nineteen other contestants competing on a massively popular reality show. To win, she must outlast her housemates to stay in the Compound the longest, while competing in challenges for luxury rewards like champagne and lipstick, plus communal necessities to outfit their new home, like food, appliances, and a front door.
- The Reformatory: A Novel by Tananarive Due (S&S/Saga Press, 2023): Set in Jim Crow Florida, this novel follows Robert Stephens Jr. as he’s sent to a segregated reform school that is a chamber of terrors where he sees the horrors of racism and injustice, for the living, and the dead.
- 10 Things That Never Happened by Alexis Hall (Sourcebooks Casablanca, 2023): A grumpy–sunshine queer rom-com about falling for the last person you should.
- Raiders of the Lost Heart by Jo Segura (Berkley, 2023): Rival archaeologists must team up on a secret Aztec expedition, or it could leave their careers—and hearts—in ruins.
