Book to movie, 4: The Infinities
Every four weeks, I will be writing about a book that I think could make a great movie.
Adam Godley is on his deathbed. Yet, he is lucky enough to have his family beside him. However, they are not the only ones. Zeus, Pan, Hermes, and other immortals linger to sew discontent and cause chaos of the preemptively grieving Godley family.
Author John Banville is well known for his craft and his book The Infinities shows off his creativity, his writing chops, and his flair for the dramatic. Mixing mortals and gods is always a great hook and the beautiful writing of Banville just opens the opportunity for a visual version of this story.
While the production would need to be subtle on some levels--this is not Clash of the Titans--I think the right cast and crew could really bring this story from page to screen.
