Book series to TV show, 4: Afterschool Charisma

Every four weeks, I will be writing about a book series that I think could make a great TV show.

Imagine a high school filled with clones of famous historical figures. St. Kleio Academy is just that kind of school, with one notable exception: Shirou Kamiya, the son of one of the main scientists involved in the cloning. As Shirou enters St. Kleio Academy, the dynamics of the clones and the history of the school begin to be illuminated.

Afterschool Charisma will pull viewers in with the promise of what feels like historical AU fanfic, but will keep them with asking big questions about destiny, history, redemption, and what it means to be human. I could not put this manga series down and had to frustratingly wait for more volumes to be released in the US.

This series likely would work best as an anime, but I could see it being done live action as well. Either way, I think the series is dynamic, appropriately dark, and immensely thought-provoking--all good qualities for a TV series.
