Book to movie, 2: Freaky Green Eyes
Every four weeks, I will be writing about a book that I think could make a great movie.
As a quick summary, Franky Pierson has a side of herself that warns her and protects her when something is wrong. Franky calls this part of herself "Freaky Green Eyes." After Franky's parents separate, Franky is firmly on her father's side as her mother is the one who left, but when her mom is reported missing, Freaky Green Eyes begins to emerge.
Freaky Green Eyes is such a compelling book that although I read it likely decades ago, it has stayed with me. It combines mystery with the power of intuition in a YA setting--all great ingredients for an engaging story. While it may require some light editing or just striking contacts to really bring out the titular eyes, I think this book could be done on a relatively small budget.
I would love if Freaky Green Eyes could haunt another generation.
