Book series to TV show, 2: The Hallowed Ones
Every four weeks, I will be writing about a book series that I think could make a great TV show.
YA Amish vampire novels. If that doesn't intrigue you, then boy would you not like this duology or the TV series I'm proposing. If, however, you're like me and are intrigued, read on!
In The Hallowed Ones duology, vampires have come to the world, but cannot enter any space considered sacred unless they are invited in. These vampires retain memories of their past selves so they can often trick humans into thinking that there is a shred of humanity left in the vampires--however they are truly bloodthirsty and terrifying.
The back of the first book snagged my attention because it posed the question: "If your home was the last safe place on Earth, would you let a stranger in?" I think this is a great question to pose with a TV series as well. The books celebrate differences in faith and love and question what it means to be human. Plus there is the usual intrigue of YA romance and family expectations.
These combined elements would make for a compelling, if perhaps a bit niche, TV series that I would watch with rabid attention.
