Holly Quick Backlist Reviews, Bookman!: Week 13
Just to get through some backlog of books I've read, I'll post 4 super short reviews of backlist titles every Wednesday.
- Slaughterhouse-Five by Kurt Vonnegut (Delacorte, 1969): An anti-war book that may take more than one read to fully appreciate. 4 stars.
- The Legend of Sleepy Hollow by Washington Irving (C. S. Van Winkle, 1820): An eerie short story sure to scratch that spooky itch. 4 stars.
- The Circus Rose by Betsy Cornwell (Clarion Books, 2020): A fantastical, queer, and romantic YA fairy tale retelling. 4 stars.
- The Turn of the Screw by Henry James (The Macmillan Company, 1898): A classic horror tale that has some fat to trim. 3 stars.
