When I saw the opportunity to read Feelings You Don't Have Words For by Emu, I thought I would be treated to cute cartoons with sweet words. If you can't tell, I was unfamiliar with the artist's prior work or I would not have been so surprised (yet appreciative) of her insight, gentleness, and quiet joy.

Feelings You Don't Have Words For introduces a cast of friends known from the site Karepango. They each have their own ways of contributing to their community and no one friend is superior to another (even if some usually come as a duo or trio). Within the book's pages, readers will learn about each character, see how they experience and manage different kinds of tough times, and be comforted that some of the struggles they have been through are paths others can help lead them through.

While not every comic clicked with me, some resonated deeply and made me reflect on my current, past, and future selves.

If you want a lovely book you can either read in its entirety or turn to random pages in, Feelings You Don't Have Words For by Emu is an excellent choice.
